First Lecture

My summer was mundane. However, after the first week, I realized that I should probably kept up with this course; I had completely forgotten how to do an inductive proof. Although less freeform, I liked the formality of the proofs we did in csc165 more than the prose format. I feel that the formal structure is more true to the "math" or "logic" part of a proof.
All in all, I need to start studying hard for this course. The material looks much more difficult than csc165 and I feel like I might struggle with this course this semester.

I think what makes material mathematical is the content, not the form (structure). What's a little hard to get used to is we can make any form (words, notation, drawings) precise, given enough work.
